CLEVELAND (Sept. 12, 2008) — Parker Hannifin Corp. has created a leadership role in the company of president-Europe, Middle East and Africa Group.
Charly Saulnier has been selected to assume this new position following his appointment as an officer by the company's board of directors. Saulnier will have responsibility for Parker's sales companies in the region, as well as coordination responsibility for functional groups, such as information technology, human resources, finance, legal and supply chain, the company said.
Saulnier will be located at the company's European headquarters in Etoy, Switzerland.
As the company's sales continue to grow internationally, it is important for it to have senior regional leadership in place with the appropriate responsibility to meet customer needs and continue to achieve its growth targets, said Don Washkewicz, Parker chairman, CEO and president.
Saulnier had served as president of sales companies-Europe, Middle East and Africa, since January. Throughout his 37-year career at the company, he has held a variety of positions with increasing responsiblity, including engineering, operations management, sales and marketing and division general manager roles.
