WHITE, Ga. (Sept. 11, 2008) — Toyo Tire North America Manufacturing Inc. earned International Standards Organization 9001:2000 Quality Management System Standards certification for its 900,000-sq.-ft. tire plant in White.
The certification means that the company's facility meets internationally recognized quality standards for tire production.
Jim Hawk, president and corporate officer of Toyo Tire North America said this certification represents Toyo's commitment to meeting stringent international standards by delivering quality and consistency for both dealers and consumers.
This certification comes on the heels of Toyo's plans for doubling the size of its plant. The company broke ground Aug. 26 on an 820,000-sq.-ft. expansion that it estimates will increase the plant's annual output to 6 million units by 2012 from 2 million in 2008.
