MISSISSAUGA, Ontario (Sept. 10, 2008) — MTI-PolyFab Inc., the aerospace division of MTI Global Inc., has been chosen by Embraer S.A. to supply silicone thermal and acoustic insulation materials for two aircraft programs.
MTI-PolyFab had been supporting the Brazilian aircraft maker with the Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 preliminary concepts through the use of specialized modeling techniques, the MTI division said. The company estimated the value of the contracts to be more than $20 million over the life of the program.
The PolyFab unit is continuing to strengthen and diversify its market position in the growing business jet market, said Bill Neill, MTI Global president and CEO. The company has established a strong long-term working relationship with Embraer over the past eight years and is looking to continue its collaboration for many years to come, he added.
Both aircraft are scheduled to enter into service by late 2013, with the Legacy 500 entering into service by mid 2012, MTI said.
