BEIJING (Sept. 9, 2008) -– China's Ministry of Commerce said it has begun the Sunset Review of anti-dumping duties on styrene-butadiene rubber originating in or exported from Russia, Japan and South Korea.
The ministry said anti-dumping duties on these products will continue at least until the review is completed Sept. 9, 2009.
China decided to levy an anti-dumping tax on imported SBR from the three nations in September 2003. A mid-term examination in 2006 was started following an application by two Russian companies to reconsider the anti-dumping duty rate because of changed circumstances.
Following that review duties were reduced for Togliatti Kauchuk Ltd., which saw duties fall to 6.81 percent from 25 percent. For Voronezhsintezkauchuk J.S.C., the rate fell to 4.02 percent from 38 percent.
