HEERLEN, Netherlands (Sept. 4, 2008) — DSM N.V.'s DSM Elastomers unit has released its sale prospectus and other documents. The company said it only will release the documents to potential buyers it considers to be serious, and only after those potential buyers have signed a secrecy agreement.
Two months ago, DSM Elastomers President Jan-Paul de Vries said the sale documents would include all relevant information on DSM Elastomers' operations and finances, as well as a management plan for the coming years. This includes options over capacity expansions in China, or — as a lower-risk plan — expansion of the company's manufacturing capacity in Geleen, Netherlands.
At the time, de Vries said DSM is looking for a buyer who will commit to growth and expansion of both the Keltan EPDM and the Sarlink thermoplastic vulcanizate businesses.
