WAYNE, N.J. (Aug. 25, 2008) — Hankook Tire America Corp. has debuted the AL07+ long-haul steer tire.
Hankook said its latest product for the trucking industry uses its Innovative Mixing System to ensure longer tread life. IMS reinforces a stronger bond of the materials and generates lower heat, according to the Wayne-based tire maker.
The AL07+ has a decoupling groove to maximize tread wear, Hankook said. The profile of the tire is designed to wear evenly through use of Hankook's Stiffness Control Contour Technology, which allows the internal force on the carcass to be distributed evenly around the tire. The company said this feature also helps extend the tire's ability for retreading.
The tread design of the AL07+ includes four straight grooves that help improve fuel efficiency and handling, Hankook said.
Brian Sheehey, Hankook's commercial tires director, said commercial fleet owners should see a significant increase in durability, performance and fuel efficiency with the new tire.
