FULLERTON, Calif. (Aug. 1, 2008) — Yokohama Tire Corp. will hike prices in the U.S. on light commercial and medium truck and large off-the-road bias and radial tires Sept. 1.
Yokohama will raise truck tire prices by up to 6 percent and on large and extra-large OTR tires by up to 4 percent. The subsidiary of Japan's Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. cited the rising cost of raw materials and energy for the increases.
This is the third Yokohama price increase this year for truck and OTR tires. Truck tire prices went up May 1 by up to 6 percent and on Jan. 1 by up to 4 percent. OTR tire prices increased by up to 5 percent twice, on Jan. 1 and May 1.
