WATERFORD, N.Y. (July 10, 2008) — Momentive Performance Materials Inc. will close its headquarters in Wilton, Conn., when its lease expires at the end of August and move to a site where its leadership team can all be in one location.
Momentive said it is reviewing a number of locations in different states across the U.S. for its future headquarters site, with a final decision expected within two weeks. The decision will be based on facility availability, costs, the firm's ability to recruit qualified talent, brand-building opportunities, airport access and impact on employees, a company spokesman said.
The Wilton closing will affect about 28 employees at the silicone producer. The spokesman said those employees are being encouraged to relocate with the firm to the new headquarters.
