MARL, Germany (July 7, 2008) — Worldwide latex supplier PolymerLatex GmbH & Co. K.G. is imposing a $100 surcharge per metric ton as a result of the increased cost of raw materials such as butadiene.
Butadiene costs are being driven by the narrowing of supply and demand, the company said. The compound is a key component in the manufacture of NBR latex.
The German-based company supplies customers in the adhesives, carpet, protective glove, molded foam, paper, textile, paints and construction industries.
