BAAR, Switzerland (June 16, 2008) — Sika has invested $96 million to open a factory for Sikaflex polyurethane adhesives in Dudingen, Switzerland, which will create 150 jobs at the 431,000-sq.-ft. site.
The plant will have initial annual capacity of 30,000 metric tons, which will be increased to 60,000 tons after a planned second construction phase.
Bruno Fritsche, head of industry division and member of Sika group management, said he sees growth potential for polyurethanes adhesives in manufacturing buses, commercial vehicles and railcars, and in the construction sector in window fabrication.
