WASHINGTON (June 12, 2008) — Goodyear has asked the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for a finding of inconsequential noncompliance in regard to 18 mislabeled Goodyear Eagle RS-A passenger radials.
The tires have a "Not for sale" notation on the inboard sidewall instead of the partial tire identification number. If Goodyear gets its way, it won´t have to recall the tires, which were made at the company´s Lawton, Okla., plant.
The tires are size P235/55R18 99V.
