WASHINGTON (June 12, 2008) — Goodyear has asked the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for a finding of inconsequential noncompliance in regard to 18 mislabeled Goodyear Eagle RS-A passenger radials.
The tires have a "Not for sale" notation on the inboard sidewall instead of the partial tire identification number. If Goodyear gets its way, it won't have to recall the tires, which were made at the company's Lawton, Okla., plant.
The tires are size P235/55R18 99V.
