PITTSBURGH (June 3, 2008) — Lanxess Corp. is planning an initiative at its Orange, Texas, plant to improve waste and energy conservation.
This summer the company will begin recycling solvent from two different waste streams at the facility and ship it to be distilled and used as an additive for industrial-grade gasoline and diesel. This has the potential to reduce waste by 2 million pounds.
Also over the past year and a half, the Polybutadiene Rubber Business Unit in Orange converted more than 95 percent of its packaging to recyclable metal containers.
