NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 23, 2008) — Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire L.L.C. will give PGA Tour spectators a chance to hit drives to raise funds for The First Tee of Akron charity.
The First Tee of Akron organization seeks to impact the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.
The company will host seven driving events, the first of which took place at the AT&T Classic, May 12-18. Golfers' drives will be converted into miles and for every mile driven, BFNT said it will donate $25 to The First Tee of Akron.
Bridgestone will offer fans the opportunity to find out which golf ball is best for their game by holding a golf ball fitting challenge. At events, the tire maker also will set up exhibits promoting its tires and featuring miniature golf holes for fans to play.
