HANOVER, Germany (May 22, 2008) — Continental A.G. has been named an official sponsor of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa in the tires product category.
Continental also has an option to extend its sponsorship until the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Alan Hippe, member of Continental's executive board, said the sponsoring deal continues the firm's strategy for its premium tire brand and continues its focus on football as a central communication platform for increasing brand awareness.
