WASHINGTON (May 19, 2008) — The Rubber Manufacturers Association has agreed to help implement a joint U.S.-Mexico scrap tire management program along the border of the two countries.
The RMA signed a letter of understanding with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Mexican Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources to work with the U.S.-Mexico Border Scrap Tire Integrated Management Initiative. The association's action came at the culmination of the International Tire Conference and “Scrap-to-Profit” scrap tire seminar held in San Diego the week of May 5-9.
