HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (May 15, 2008) — American Le Mans Series competitor Primetime Race Group is switching to Hankook Ventus F200 racing tires for its GT2 class Dodge Viper for the rest of the 2008 season, starting with this weekend's Utah Grand Prix at Miller Motorsport Park outside of Salt Lake City.
Hankook and Primetime have agreed to work with Hankook Tire America Corp. under the terms of a tire development and supply agreement. Primetime competed on Michelin racing tires for the first three events of the 2008 ALMS season.
Primetime owner and driver Joel Feinberg is considered Hankook's official factory driver in the IMSA Lites Series, a companion series to the ALMS that features identical sports cars racing on Hankook Ventus spec racing tires. Feinberg finished fourth in last year's IMSA Lites championship.
"After meeting with Primetime Race Group, we realized that they have the same passion for success as Hankook," said Bill Bainbridge, director of brand communication for Hankook Tire America. "They are an excellent fit for our race tire development program and we believe that together we can reach the ultimate goal of getting the team on the podium."
The Primetime team decided to switch to Hankook after a recent test session at Roebling Road Raceway in Savannah, Ga., Hankook said.
