MOSCOW (May 14, 2008) — John Vincent, president of Firestone Polymers, has been named president international of the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers, and will preside over the organization's annual meeting next year in New York City.
The conference will be the IISRP's 50th Annual General Meeting, according to James L. McGraw, managing director and CEO of the institute.
“New York was the first home of the IISRP, as we were founded in 1960 and headquartered in the Rockefeller Center up until 1979 when we moved to Houston. It is of course well timed to move our 50th AGM to our birthplace,” he said.
The conference will take place at the Grand Hyatt Park Center, May 11-14, 2009.
The announcements were made at the group's 2008 meeting, held this week in Moscow. Vincent succeeds Vasily Nomokonov, head of technology and operations management at Sibur Holding, who now becomes the past-president international. Vincent also becomes America Sections president.
Also elected to the IISRP Executive Committee are:
- Far East Section: Wei-Hua Tu, TSRC, president; Toshiyuki Kawasaki, Asahi-Kasai, vice president; and Nobuyuki Takahashi, UBE Industries, standing member.
- European Section: Abraham Brink, Karbochem, president; Craig Arnold, Dow, vice president; Igor Golberg, Efremov, standing member.
