CINCINNATI (May 12, 2008) — Omya Inc. is raising prices for its ground calcium carbonate grades used in industrial, food and pharmaceutical applications.
Product prices will increase up to 1.25 cents per pound starting June 1.
The company said the rise in energy, raw material, packaging, freight mining and related costs are behind the increases, which vary according to product.
Calcium carbonate is used in the adhesives, coatings, plastics, inks, plaster and other industries.
