WASHINGTON (April 28, 2008) — Twenty-five states issued proclamations in support of National Tire Safety Week, the Rubber Manufacturers Association said.
The seventh annual National Tire Safety Week, held April 20-26 this year, highlights the tire industry's efforts to educate the public as to proper inflation, wheel alignment, rotation and other aspects of proper tire care and tire safety.
More than 19,000 tire retailers, auto dealerships and automotive repair facilities participated in the events, distributing tire care brochures produced by the RMA and in most cases offering free tire care service to motorists.
The states endorsing National Tire Safety Week were Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia and Wisconsin, the RMA said.
