FINDLAY, Ohio (March 27, 2008) — Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.'s plant in Albany, Ga., was presented the 2008 Large Industry of the Year award, given based on economic impact, corporate responsibility and commitment to excellence.
Kervin Cross, human resources manager at the plant, accepted the award presented by the Albany chamber of commerce and Albany/Dougherty County Economic Development Commission.
The Albany plant, which has been in operation since 1990, employs more than 1,700 and generates revenues of more than $500 million annually. It produces Cooper, Mastercraft and Mickey Thompson brand tires as well as several private brand label tires.
