NEW YORK (March 26, 2008) — Chemtura Corp. plans to hike the price of many of its brominated flame retardant products effective April 1 by 20 to 40 cents per kilogram, depending on the product.
The firm blamed increased energy and raw material costs for the price increase. Prices will rise for
DE-83R decabromodiphenyloxide by 20 cents a kilogram; for FireMaster 2100 decrabromodiphenylethene by 40 cents; BA-59P tetrabromobisphenol A by 30 cents; PH-73FF tribromophenol by 25 cents; and for PHT-4 tetrabromophthalic anhydride by 20 cents.
