KUALA LUMPUR (March 19, 2008) — Malaysia's natural rubber production rose in January compared with the year-ago figure, according to a government agency.
NR output grew 11.9 percent to 120,827 metric tons in the month compared to January 2007, Malaysia's official Department of Statistics said. Domestic consumption rose 16.7 percent to 40,563 tons, and exports declined 12.1 percent to 79,199 tons.
