RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (March 5, 2008) — Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc. has been chosen to supply race tires for LG Motorsports for that team's GT2-spec C6 Corvette in this year's American Le Mans Series.
The contract is Kumho's second with a GT2 team for the 2008 ALMS season. It recently agreed to supply VICI Racing and its Porsche 911 GT3 RSR.
This will be the first ALMS season for both LG Motorsports and VICI Racing. LG Motorsports is moving to the ALMS after several seasons racing a Corvette in the Sports Car Club of America Speed World Challenge. That series uses spec Toyo tires.
The LG Motorsports team, which is working with Riley Technology to develop the Corvette for GT2 competition, expects to be ready to compete at this year's opening race, the 12 hours of Sebring, which is set for March 15.
