HONG KONG (March 4, 2008) — Dow Chemical Co.'s Polyurethanes business is planning a price hike for its polyether polyols and monopropylene glycol in the Asia-Pacific region by $100 per metric ton and $80 per metric ton, respectively.
The increase is needed because of high costs of raw materials and energy adversely impacting the business's cost of production, and because of the current tight supply/demand environment the business is facing, the firm said.
