RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (Feb. 29, 2008) — Kumho Tire Co. Inc. signed a Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement with South Korea and the U.S. to commercialize its tires for use in the civil aviation industry.
The agreement allows the U.S. to observe and examine the quality and performance of the civil aviation industry abroad. It is required to export related products for use in other countries.
Kumho said it expects to control 5 percent or more of the civil aviation tire market by 2015, with Asiana Airlines, a subsidiary of Kumho Asiana Group, as the company's first customer.
