TOKYO (Feb. 13, 2008) — Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. has named Takao Oishi president and CEO its U.S. subsidiary, succeeding Norio Karashima.
Karashima is taking on several new assignments for the parent company while retaining his post as president of Yokohama Corp. of America. The changes are effective April 1.
Oishi is executive vice president of Yokohama Tire, responsible for management information systems, original equipment sales, strategic marketing and operations. He moved to Yokohama Tire in 2007 from Germany, where he was president of Yokohama Europe.
A 31-year company veteran, Karashima has been Yokohama Tire´s top executive since June 2004. He will return to the company´s headquarters in Tokyo to become managing corporate officer in charge of Yokohama´s Off-the-Road Tire & Aircraft Tire Division, Tire Logistics Division, Tire North America Business Department and general manager of the Tire Planning Division.
In addition, Yokohama Rubber named Tooru Kobayashi to become director and managing corporate officer. He is director and corporate officer in charge of Off-the-Road Tire & Aircraft Tire Division, Tire Logistics Division and general manager of Tire Planning Division.
