ORLANDO, Fla. (Feb. 6, 2008) — Michelin North America Inc. unveiled the XZE2—which will succeed its XZE all-position truck tire—at the Technology & Maintenance Council show in Orlando.
"Michelin continues to raise the bar for truck tire technology through continued innovations that improve tire life and durability," said Marc Laferriere, vice president of marketing for Michelin Americas Truck Tires. "This in turn helps regional fleets and operators reduce their total cost of operation over the long run."
Compared with its predecessor, the XZE2 has 15-percent longer tread life, 6-percent wider tread area and 5-percent lower rolling resistance.
The tire will be available March 1 in sizes 11R22.5, 275/80R22.5 and 11R24.5. Size 275/80R24.5 will be available starting in April.
The XZE tire will be available until year-end.
