GRAPEVINE, Texas (Feb. 4, 2008) — Goodyear´s advertising plans for 2008 include providing aerial coverage of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
The Akron-based tire maker also had provided coverage for the Winter Olympics in 2006. The company will offer animated product messages during the programs, officials said at the tire maker´s annual dealer meeting in Grapevine.
Goodyear also will serve as the presenting sponsor of Fox TV´s pre-race show to the Daytona 500´s 50th anniversary race Feb. 17. The tire maker has prepared a race leadership-themed ad featuring its blimp and "Get There" campaign. The company is the sole tire supplier to NASCAR.
For its Assurance line, Goodyear plans to run rain- and snow-themed commercials this fall for the Assurance TripleTred tire. For the ComforTred, the tire maker said it will run mass media ads this spring. Goodyear also is introducing seven new sizes for that tire.
