AKRON (Jan. 21, 2008) — Is your company green? Then tell us about it. The March 24 issue of Rubber & Plastics News will include a special report, "Rubber Goes Green," about how the rubber industry is responding to global environmental change. We need your input.
Rubber industry companies—processors and suppliers alike—are intimately involved in environmental issues. As a chemical-based business highly dependent on energy to make its products, the rubber industry began dealing with tough subjects like pollution controls, recycling and energy consumption long before they became fashionable.
So what is your company doing that warrants a "green" label? As a processor, is it using recycled materials; finding ways to cut energy use; developing more efficient production techniques? As a supplier, is it creating elastomers, chemicals or machinery that leave a smaller environmental footprint on society?
It could be a small thing, it could be big—any contribution to meeting the environmental challenge counts. Tell us your story, and we will include it in a listing of individual company achievements in the "Rubber Goes Green" report.
