TORONTO (Jan. 18, 2008) — Shaw Pipe Protection Ltd. will invest $11 million to construct a pipe-coating plant in Camrose, Alberta, according to its owner ShawCor Ltd.
The facility will be used to provide what Canadian group ShawCor calls "technologically advanced internal pipe coatings and insulation systems" for users in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB).
The facility, scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2008, will provide SureFlo internal epoxy coatings as well as Insul-8 AG, a new high-temperature polyurethane foam pipe insulation for above-ground pipelines, the company said.
The company will expand its SureFlo range in 2008 to include internal anticorrosion and abrasion-resistant coatings, and "this new facility is a key component of this expansion strategy, the firm said.
