TOKYO (Jan. 15, 2008) — Denki Kagaku Kogyo K.K. has said it intends to file a lawsuit seeking to nullify the $69 million imposed upon it and subsidiary Denka Chemicals GmbH by the European Commission in December.
The company has issued a statement saying the deadline for such procedures is Feb. 5, and that it intends to file its suit before that date.
On Dec. 5, the European Commission fined five chloroprene producers a total of about $354 million for participating in an illegal price-fixing cartel.
