LANCASTER, Pa. (Jan. 14, 2008) — Tire and rubber recycling firm Dodge-Regupol Inc. has changed its name to Ecore International, reflecting the company's expanding geographic and strategic focus, according to President and CEO Arthur Dodge III.
Founded in the mid-1800s as Dodge Cork Co., the firm became Dodge-Regupol in 1989 through a partnership with the German company Berleburger Schaumstoffwerk GmbH.
By mutual agreement, the partnership ended in November, according to Ecore. Ecore claims to be the biggest user of scrap tire rubber in North America and manufactures a wide range of commercial and performance flooring products.
North American architects are specifying Ecore products worldwide in such projects as the Burj Dubai Tower, which will be the world's tallest building when it is completed in 2009, Dodge said.
