NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 11, 2008) — Bridgestone/Firestone has extended its long-standing truck tire supply agreement with TravelCenters of America L.L.C. through 2014.
The latest extension includes sales of Bridgestone- and Firestone-brand commercial tires at TravelCenters´ Petro Stopping Centers, BFS said. The tire maker last extended its arrangement with the travel chain in mid-2006.
As part of the new agreement, the Bridgestone brand will be the "exclusive premium commercial tire" to be sold by the stores, meaning Michelin and Goodyear brands will not be offered at the locations, said Tim Abel, senior account manager for BFS who handles the TravelCenters account.
TravelCenters, which is being acquired by an investment firm for $1.9 billion, operates more than 230 locations in 41 states and throughout Canada.
