In recent years, computed tomography has gained an ever greater importance in tire industries. The major benefit of CT is that it allows information to be gained about the inner construction of an object without actually cutting it. The object can thus be used after it has been tested while further investigations can be made for comparative analysis following usage. Furthermore, one and the same object can be exposed to different simulated conditions. For instance, the inner steel construction can be analyzed under load conditions; sections and volumes can be compared using a simulation of finite elements.
