WASHINGTON (Dec. 28, 2007) — The U.S. rubber product deficit rose 11 percent in July, according to the latest figures from the U.S. Commerce Department.
The deficit for the month increased to $791.9 million, as exports rose 12.9 percent to $551.5 million and imports 11.9 percent to $1.34 billion.
For the year, the rubber product deficit was up 4.4 percent from 2006 to $4.61 billion. Exports climbed 10 percent to $3.97 billion and imports 6.9 percent to $8.58 billion during the period.
