HOUSTON (Dec. 18, 2007) — Dorf Ketal Chemicals L.L.C. is expanding in India and Brazil to add capacity for antioxidants for polyurethanes, offer a wider product range and increase custom chemical abilities.
Dorf Ketal's Taloja, India, facility will add a hydrogen reformer, an updated effluent treatment plant and quality control labs. Other additions include an antioxidant unit for the manufacturing of chemicals used in the polyurethane, water treatment, optical and fine chemical industries, the firm said.
Equipment will be installed to accommodate the firm's acquisition of ExxonMobil Chemical's component additive division.
Dorf Ketal said it also plans to build a facility to handle its export business in Jamnagar, India.
In Bahia, Brazil, the company plans to build a 3,000-metric-ton batch facility to make additives to serve the lubricant, fuel and adhesive industries and meet the growing needs in Brazil and Argentina, the company said.
