FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Dec. 5, 2007) — The trial of two executives of Manuli Rubber Industries S.p.A. accused of being involved in a conspiracy to fix prices, rig bids and assign market share in the rubber marine hose industry is scheduled for May in the Fort Lauderdale federal district court.
Francesco Scaglia and Val M. Northcutt were indicted in September, four months after eight other marine hose industry executives were arrested and charged in the alleged conspiracy.
Since then, two of those executives — Jacques Cognard and Christian Caleca of Trelleborg Industrie S.A.S. — have pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate with the Justice Department in its ongoing investigation.
There is no word on when any of the other executives´ cases will be set for trial, a Justice Department spokeswoman said.
