CHURUBUSCO, Ind.—At first glance, BRC Rubber & Plastics Inc. would seem to have a lot going against it. The molded goods maker is a U.S.-based manufacturer that still does virtually all its business in North America. And the firm does about 80 percent of its business in automotive and still is fairly tied to the "Detroit Three," with Ford Motor Co. and General Motors Corp. its two biggest customers and Chrysler L.L.C. in the top five or six, according to Executive Vice President Mike Meyer.
BRC bucks the odds by succeeding as auto parts supplier in U.S.
