TOKYO (Nov. 26, 2007) — Bridgestone Corp. will supply run-flat tires as standard equipment on the Nissan GT-R sports car when it is launched in the U.S. next June.
The tires have reinforced sidewalls to support the vehicle in case of a loss of air pressure. Bridgestone said the highly rigid structure of the Bridgestone Potenza RE070R RFT has been specifically tuned for the Nissan GT-R, and the tire´s new tread design offers good handling in both wet and dry conditions.
These features offer performance that is ideal for the enthusiast wishing to drive on the race track, Bridgestone said.
The company has developed winter tires for the same application. The GT-R uses 255/40ZRF20 (97Y) on the front wheels and 285/35ZRF20 (100Y) on the rear.
