The International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers Inc. has selected Igor Golberg of Russia's Efremov Synthetic Rubber Enterprise and Enrico Martinez of Mexico's Insa/Dynasol to receive awards at its annual general meeting next year.
Golberg will get the IISRP's General Award, presented to a person who has contributed to the synthetic rubber industry and the institute, the organization said. He became an IISRP director in 1993 and has served as international president, European Section president and a member of the performance review committee, the primary oversight committee of the organization.
The IISRP said Golberg was instrumental in helping the group gain access to the Russian SR industry, and also in improving statistical collection from the region.
Martinez was chosen to receive the association's Technical Award. He spent much of his career developing solution polymers, holds numerous patents and has published many papers on the topic. He spent 15 years as a professor before joining Insa/Dynasol and retired from the SR producer in 2005, the IISRP said.
Since then Martinez has returned to academia.
The recipients will receive their awards at the IISRP meeting the week of May 12, 2008, in Moscow.
