PLYMOUTH, Mich. (Nov. 1, 2007) — Simrit, the industrial sealing division of Freudenberg-NOK G.P., has acquired the assets of Precision Industries Corp., a developer and manufacturer of specialized custom diaphragms.
Terms of the agreement weren't disclosed.
The purchase will allow Germantown, Wis.-based Precision to expand its reach into a broader variety of general industry markets while leveraging the financial and research and development resources of a much larger company, Simrit said. In return, the Plymouth-based Simrit division will add comprehensive diaphragm capabilities to its broad product offering.
Precision's product capabilities include custom diaphragms made of rubber, rubber-fabric combinations and specialty materials, as well as diaphragms and gaskets die-cut from coated fabrics. The company's designs also include insert-molded diaphragms and over-molded diaphragms, with a focus on assembling specialized diaphragms.
Precision was established in 1986 as a manufacturer of high-quality diaphragms, specializing in fabric-reinforced diaphragms for small engines, fuel systems, irrigation, gaseous fuels, pneumatic controls and medical regulators.
