FULLERTON, Calif. (Oct. 1, 2007) — Yokohama Tire Corp. has reassigned four executives in the U.S., and three others are returning to Japan for positions with parent firm Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd.
In the U.S., Takao Oishi was named executive vice president of operations. Most recently he served as president of Yokohama Europe.
Kenichi Shirai was named chief adviser, strategic marketing. Shirai, also in his first assignment in the U.S., was instrumental in the launch of the Advan Neova tire as well as the Parada Spec-X, Yokohama said.
Iwao Shimomura was named senior director, corporate quality assurance. This is his second role in the U.S.; he served as manager of tire development at Yokohama's Salem, Va., plant from 1991-1994.
Finally, Satoshi Miyata was named chief financial officer and treasurer. He previously had been treasurer for more than four years.
The three executives returning to Japan include: Takaharu Fushimi as general manager, tire overseas sales and marketing department No. 1; Tadayoshi Hiraga as general manager, tire overseas technical service department; and Takeshi Masatomo as manager, passenger car and light truck tires product planning department.
