NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 20) — Bridgestone/Firestone will raise prices up to 4 percent or more on Bridgestone, Firestone, Fuzion and associate brand tires in the replacement, original equipment and export channels in the U.S. and Canada, effective Nov. 1.
The increases apply to passenger and light truck, truck and bus, agricultural and off-the-road tires with possible adjustments of more than 4 percent, the tire maker said.
Asahiko "Duke" Nishiyama, vice chairman and president of Bridgestone Americas Holding Inc., said the unprecedented ongoing escalation in raw material costs, especially those related to petroleum, continue to strain the firm's ability to offset these increases with countermeasures.
