LIVONIA, Mich. (Sept. 12) — A keynote address on diesel standards by an Environmental Protection Agency official will highlight the Oct. 3 Detroit Rubber Group meeting in Livonia.
Byron Bunker, director of the Heavy Duty Onroad Center Assessment and Standards Division for the EPA Office of Transportation and Air Quality, will give the keynote address a 1 p.m. following lunch at Schoolcraft College. His presentation is titled "Emission Reduction Possible," and will be about the national clean diesel campaign, with a special focus on heavy truck diesel standards.
Other speakers in the program, which is titled "Emissions Impossible," will be:
- Michael Samulski of the EPA's National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory, discussing "Evaporative Emissions Control for Nonroad Equipment."
- Ute Rueger, Federal-Mogul Corp, Sealing Systems Technical Center, on "Low Permeation Gaskets."
- Jim Shell, FRS/Pinnacle Elastomeric Technology, whose paper is titled "Fluoroelastomer Micropowders in FKM."
- Fushu Fu, Cardolite Corp., on "Cashew Nut Shell Liquid Resin in Rubber Applications."
