WASHINGTON (Sept. 12) — The Rubber Manufacturers Association has developed a tire care curriculum for student drivers.
The program is designed to give students hands-on experience on proper tire care, and it includes a teacher's guide, activity sheets, reproducible student work sheets and a "Be Tire Smart" wall poster, the RMA said.
The association has sent postcards announcing the program to more than 16,000 high school driver education teachers, high school auto mechanic instructors and commercial driving instructors. All who respond to the postcard by Oct. 1 will receive free tire gauges and Be Tire Smart brochures.
The program is downloadable at www.betiresmart.org.
