LEVERKUSEN, Germany (Sept. 4) — Lanxess A.G. is selling its Borchers GmbH additives business to OM Group Inc. of Cleveland for an undisclosed sum.
Lanxess said the deal will remove a peripheral business from the company, a maker of synthetic rubber, chemicals, intermediates and engineering plastics. The deal, subject to approval by the German Federal Cartel Office, is expected to close by the end of September.
Borchers produces additives for coatings, dispersions and printing ink, and employs 90 globally. The subsidiary posted sales of $49 million in 2006.
