NORTH BROOKFIELD, Mass. (Aug. 30) — Three Quabaug Corp. executives have acquired the rubber product maker, ending 91 years of ownership by the Varnum family.
CEO Kevin Donahue — who purchased the firm with partners Mike Gionfriddo, president and chief operating officer, and Jim Barkoskie, vice president of human resources — has become chairman of the North Brookfield firm. He succeeds Roger Varnum, who has been chairman since 1995 and will serve as an adviser to the company.
Quabaug employs 300 and makes Vibram-brand shoe soling and pet products, and QuaBoing playground and landscape surfacing. My Good Dog L.L.C., a Quabaug subsidiary, is based in South Portland, Maine.
