LINWOOD, Pa. (Aug. 28) — Foamex International Inc. President and Director Gregory Christian has resigned, effective Sept. 1, to "pursue other opportunities," as CEO John Johnson Jr. will assume the post.
Foamex also said it will realign its management structure to better reflect corporate functions and increase profitability.
"Foamex operates in an increasingly competitive global economy and as such it is important that we continue to focus on becoming a more efficient organization," Johnson said in a statement. "I believe we now have the right structure in place to successfully navigate the current business environment while positioning the company for long-term, profitable growth."
Christian had been a part of Foamex´s management team for 11 years, most recently leading the firm through its Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.
