FULLERTON, Calif. (Aug. 14) — Starting with this fall´s football season, Yokohama Tire Corp. is partnering with the National Football League´s Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns, as well two college teams, the UCLA Bruins and USC Trojans, for a series of promotions.
The tire maker will sponsor the teams and launch promotions the company said will drive traffic to its dealers.
"We think football´s immense popularity, on the pro and college levels, makes it the perfect place to showcase our lineup of tires, including Advan, S.drive, Parada, Geolandar and Avid," said Dan King, vice president of sales.
King said one promotion will be a jersey giveaway where dealers in a specific market will offer free, authentic replica team jerseys to every customer buying four tires. The tire maker also will have signage, product displays and events at the stadiums, plus radio spots, a presence on the teams´ Web sites and newsletters and other corporate identifications.
The football promotions follow Fullerton-based Yokohama´s partnerships this season with minor league baseball teams the Triple-A Columbus Clippers and the Double-A Reading Phillies.
